Developing Continuous Blood Pressure Monitoring with viQtor: The Catharina Eindhoven
Collaboration with: Catharina Hospital Eindhoven (CZE)
Study Overview
The Catharina Eindhoven - Pressure Study is a prospective data-collection study focused on developing, optimizing, and verifying the technical performance of a new PPG-based algorithm for continuous blood pressure (BP) measurement within the viQtor device. This study involves collecting raw PPG data and vital signs (BP, heart rate, respiratory rate, and SpO2) from perioperative ICU patients to enhance viQtor’s BP measurement capabilities.
Key Participants
55 perioperative ICU patients
Primary Objective
To develop and validate a continuous BP measurement algorithm based on PPG data within the viQtor device. Data will be collected from multiple sources, including the viQtor research device, Ear Pulse Oximeter, and an invasive arterial line. The gathered data will be used to refine the BP algorithm through machine learning techniques and manual feature analysis conducted by the research team.
Expected Results and Benefits
Results are anticipated by August 2025. This study aims to provide a reliable PPG-based BP measurement solution that can be applied across various patient demographics, enhancing the viQtor device’s capabilities in continuous BP monitoring.
Study Duration:
Start: January 2025
